THINK ABOUT THE VENUE The best venues always get booked up first so planning ahead will pay off here. How about sharing the party with another friend? Other parents will appreciate it too (one less weekend dominated by children's parties!) and you can halve the costs.

ORGANISE SOME GAMES AND ACTIVITIES No party is complete without some games or activities. The old ones are often the best (and low-cost too!). Musical chairs and musical statues won’t cost you a penny, and you can pull together a pass-the-parcel game without breaking the bank. You could set up a fun tattoo station, or get an older sibling to do some nail art on them. A pinata is one of my favourite and the game could last a while.

HOME BAKED CAKE   Whether you are a good baker or not, kids really appreciate the effort you put into it. You don't need to make anything fancy, what i do is bake their favourite flavour cake and then add loads of decorations on top. think sprinkles, cake toppers and candles. The more the merrier.

PARTY BAGS  Party bags are a lovely  way to end a party, and can often be really helpful to tempt away little guests who don't want the party to be over! you can easily get carried away shopping for party bag fillers and the cost can rack up.
